Taster Sessions

Archery target with lots of arrows in it

A taster session offers a more immersive experience into the world of archery compared to a Have-a-Go session. Here, you’ll have the chance to shoot arrows at targets placed further away, which not only adds to the challenge but also gives you a better sense of what archery is like in a more competitive or practice setting.

During a taster session, you’ll receive more detailed instruction on archery techniques, including how to properly stance, aim, and release the arrow. The instructors will guide you through the process, offering tips and corrections to help improve your accuracy and consistency. This hands-on learning approach ensures that you gain a deeper understanding of the sport.

Meeting the members of the Colwyn Bowmen club is another highlight of the taster session. This is your chance to ask any questions you might have about the club, its activities, and the sport of archery. Club members are usually very welcoming and eager to share their passion for archery, providing insights into what it’s like to be part of the community.

The session, lasting about 1 to 2 hours, is designed to be both informative and enjoyable. You’ll have plenty of time to practice shooting, get to know the club members, and decide if archery is something you’d like to pursue further. Whether you’re looking to take up a new hobby, improve your skills, or simply enjoy a unique experience, a taster session is an excellent way to delve deeper into archery.

Additionally, these sessions often cover the basics of archery safety, equipment handling, and maintenance, ensuring that you leave with a well-rounded introduction to the sport. By the end of the session, you’ll have a good sense of what archery entails and whether it’s the right fit for you.
